Description from GoodReads: “We can’t choose the strangers we meet.
As the guests arrive at beautiful, remote Mitchell’s Inn, they’re all looking forward to a relaxing weekend deep in the forest, miles from anywhere. They watch their fellow guests with interest, from a polite distance.
Usually we can avoid the people who make us nervous, make us afraid.
With a violent storm raging, the group finds itself completely cut off from the outside world. Nobody can get in – or out. And then the first body is found . . . and the horrifying truth comes to light. There’s a killer among them – and nowhere to run.
Until we find ourselves in a situation we can’t escape. Trapped.”
Wow! That was SO good! This was the first book I’ve read by Shari Lapena, but it won’t be the last. What an awesome whodunit!
“None of them will ever be the same.”
12 strangers. 1 hotel. All of the guests have come to the hotel to escape. Cell service who cares? Get snowed in? No problem. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, just the retreat they were all looking for. How lucky to have made it up before the storm… But far from finding escape – they are trapped. They will all become much less cavalier about their isolation once somebody is murdered….
I loved this book – it was very Agatha Christie from the start. Lots of characters in the beginning and when things start going wrong you’re almost totally lost – but in a good way – no clue what’s going on! Then everyone will take turns being a suspect. And I found the end SO satisfying! I thought for a second it wasn’t going to end how I wanted, but Lapena came through :)
You need this book if you like a good mystery and you feel like spending the next 24 hours or so reading since you won’t be able to put it down!
