GoodReads Description: "The greatest risk isn’t running away.
It’s running out of time.
The car abandoned miles from home.
The note found at a nearby hotel.
The shattered family that couldn’t be put back together.
They called it a 'walk away.'
It happens all the time.
Women disappear, desperate to leave their lives behind and start over.
But is that what really happened to Molly Clarke?"

It is just absolutely heartbreaking what happened to this family. The characters were so well-done. I cared so much about each and every member of the Clarke family. Molly Clarke and her family are still reeling from the death of the youngest member of their family 5 years later. Of course they are.
How does one even cope with something so horrific? It is further complicated by blame and guilt. The family is broken. But are they beyond hope?

It probably felt that way the day that Molly walked in the rain contemplating walking away from it all. But would she really do that? Would she really walk away from her family?

This was one intense and emotional page-turner! I said in a recent review that I want characters in the books that I read, to break my heart over and over again... I'm a sadist that way. And that is EXACTLY what I got with this book! I got totally wrecked - mascara dripping, sniffling, but still speed flipping pages kind of ruined.
Jennifer Lawrence Crying & Sobbing Gif
And can I tell you, when little Alice entered the story - as implausible as it would have been - I was sitting there thinking, it's Annie! She was somehow stolen from the scene or the hospital or... No, it wouldn't make sense, but I so badly wanted what had happened to them to be undone!

And THEN after all this turmoil, they must endure more! Would their MOTHER put this family through more??? What do you think? Are you a mother?

I related so much to the characters and loved them and let them break my heart while I tore through page after page of this wonderful suspenseful thriller.

Loved it.

MY RATING:
Characters: 5
Story: 4.5
Overall: 5 stars (technically 4.75 but come on that's ridiculous)

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!!
